Markus Stitz is currently circumnavigating the globe on a Surly with Halo wheels.

Markus Stitz has been riding around the world on a Surly with parts from Halo wheels, Schwalbe tyres, SP Dynamo hubs and here is his latest blog:

I'm in Thailand, after felt temperatures up to 47C it's a tad cooler now (40) and I'll be crossing into Laos soon. The reason I'm able to email is that I wait for the Super Rich Money Exchange to open to get US dollars, normally I'd be riding right now, as the heat dictates 6am starts. Having done 23,100k I'm still loving it!

I'm planning to finish SE Asia in Hanoi in two weeks, I'll then fly to Teheran to join my brother to cycle through Iran and Turkey and through Europe - the plan currently is Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Denmark, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland. That will and might still change. I guess I'll end up beyond the 30k mark, I'll intend to finish end of August, early September as planned.

My keyboard is broken at the moment but I'll get a new one when meeting up with Matthias in Iran, I killed it in heavy rain in Australia. Yes, you're right, Australia! It was wet there in the end, for now I've experienced anything from -17 to 42 degrees.
